We had just a bit of rain overnight and it was overcast when we got up to go for breakfast at the B&B. We decided to go for a short hike at a nearby Conservation Area after we checked out. We had some advice that we may see some kangaroos in the wild.
Things were looking promising as we approached the park.
We arrived at the Kaiserstuhl Park and departed on the Stringboard trail.
Shortly into the walk, we encountered some roo poo.
We know we were on the track for some sightings. Shortly after, I encountered our first kangaroo. They just sit there and stare at you.
As we continued on, we saw several more.
The next objective is to see a koala in the wild.
We decided to visit one more winery before driving to Adelaide. I came across one more of the typical gothic Lutheran Churches during our drive.
We stopped at Wolf Blass Winery, a huge facility with a very nice tasting room. You don’t get the wines they have here on sampling back home at the LCBO! We had another nice encounter with a server at a winery. The lady looking after us had a son who was a Brock University graduate. Once she found out that Chris had worked there we had an extended conversation and got some more good advice for planning our trip to Melbourne.
It was only an hour drive to Adelaide and we arrived at our apartment around 2:30.
Once we figured out how to get into the parking garage, we settled in then went for a walk around the CBD.
We went to the South Australia Museum but only had 45 minutes as it, like everything else in Australia, closes at 5:00pm. Some nice aboriginal history and displays.
We walked back to the apartment via the Rundle St Mall. Lots of shopping and off street Arcades (malls).
Chris got attracted by this sign and we had to spend some money.
The Asians really like the McDonalds. The line up went out into the street…
A really cool Combi food truck....
These Aussies are really polite and orderly when lining up for the next bus!
After a break in the apartment, we ventured out for supper in the Leigh/Peel St area which has just become a trendy place for bars and sidewalk cafes. We went to a Moroccan Tapas bar and had a great time.
