Victor Harbor

This is one of our two day stays that allows a bit of R&R.  We started off looking for breakfast but guess what, this is the town of no restaurants. The resort did not offer breakfast. We drove into town and everything seemed to be closed so we finally ended up with a McCafe breakfast.

Back to the room, we continued on with our quest to find some affordable accommodation in Melbourne. The cost of three days in the central core of Melbourne was coming in at $1500 - $3000 for the few places that were not booked. We finally figured out that the World Cricket Championships were on this coming weekend. Sort of like trying to book in the city hosting the Superbowl!

Finally found a suburb with an acceptable price for accommodation so, with that under control, we went down to the pro shop to look for a game of golf. There was a shotgun start tournament in the morning so we had to wait for that to end but got off shortly after noon. A nice links style course with wide fairways but lots of sand bunkers which I managed to find too often.

Some nice homes on the course. This one, a Canadian owner.

We had fun and enjoyed the 30C dry temperatures.

After a cold beverage on the balcony and a shower, we ventured out to Granite Island via the causeway.

A nice walk and we had a nice overlook of the bay, granite seashore and the approaching weather system.

Supper tonight was at the Italian Restaurant we couldn't get into last night.

A nice relaxing day.
